I’ve been playing with wood for a long time. I find my inspiration from many things, including Japanese design, modern architecture, and nature. My hope is that my work instills a sense of calm and ease; we could all use a little more of both. --Christian

The Process

Starting with a hardwood board, I place hardwood embers on the board and let them burn the depression of the piece into the wood. Scrape, repeat, put the whole piece in the fire, and let the heat and flames dictate the final shape of the piece.
